[Class 44] A band clip has a worm 11 provided with a neck 5 and a head 10, and a gapped abutment washer 6 arranged in a slot 7 in the worm housing, or bearing on the outside of the housing. The base 2a on which the toothed free end of the band rests, is flattened so that the worm engages a number of teeth. The teeth, preferably, do not extend right through the thickness of the metal. In the band clip having the washer 6 bearing on one end of the housing, a washer is riveted to the outer end of the worm to bear on the opposite end of the housing. The base of the housing is welded at 15 to the band end 2a.
