[Class 64 (ii)] A flat hot-water bottle and bed-airer 10, preferably a hollow casting of aluminium or light alloy, is provided with a pivotally-mounted handle 13 which is adapted to be releasably retained in. the plane of the bottle or in a plane at right angles thereto. The free end of each arm of the handle may be provided with a head 14 slidably mounted in an opening 15 of a disc member 14' angularly movable in a circular recess 121 in a boss 12 on the side of the container and springs 16 are disposed between the head 14 and the base of the opening 15 to urge a projection 17 on the extremity of the arm into engagement with one of two notches 18 in the said recess of the boss 12, the notches 18 corresponding to the required positions of the handle 13 and the boss being closed by a detachable cap 19. In a modification, each arm is pivoted on a boss on the side of the bottle, and co-operating projections and recesses on the bottle and arm respectively are urged into engagement by spring means disposed between the arm and a cap screwed on to the boss. The cross-piece of the handle is preferably provided with a pivoted member 27 which normally lies in a recess within the contour of the handle but may be turned into a position at right angles, and the under surface of the bottle may be formed with spaced projections or feet, not shown.
