[Class 89 (ii)] A connector for use in making joints in wood &c. particularly joints that are glued, consists of a corrugated strip of stainless steel or other metal &c. with serrated edges ground to a chisel edge. The strip may be bent into zigzag or spiral form, or may be bent into circular form, 17, Fig. 5. To ensure equal penetration into the two members to be connected the strip is notched alternate notches 7 being cut to the centre line. The projections are sharpened at 11 and the edges 12 of the shallow notches are also sharpened but those 13 of the deeper notches are left blunt as punched, to limit penetration. The edges of the projections may be barbed.
