[Class 34 (ii)] Grain is dried in a hopper c, which is mounted within a container a and has perforations d smaller in size than the grain, by the passage therethrough of heated air which is maintained at an appropriate temperature by a thermostat q disposed in close proximity to the hopper, the grain, after drying, passing through a pipe e at the bottom of the hopper into a conduit f where it meets a current of air from a blower g which conveys it to an upstanding outlet pipe i. The latter terminates in a perforated cowl j, having two outlets k, k1 controlled by a close-fitting bowl l which is rotatable and provided with two holes m, m1 in such a manner that the grain may be diverted through the outlet k, on to a chute r and baffle s back into the hopper for further drying, or discharged through the outlet k1 to sacks &c. The flow of grains to the conduit f is restricted by a baffle v, and the drying air is led to the space between the hopper and bottom of the container a by a branch pipe o from the blower g, the pipe o being fitted with an electric &c. heater p the supply of current to which is controlled by the thermostat q.
