[Class 68 (i)] A drag line excavator a has a bucket i, which is controlled by drag and hoist lines without the use of a rigid guideway and adapted to be dragged up the face of the working, and is combined with a transporterequipment which may be either a conveyer belt or a skip f running along an arm c. As the bucket reaches the upper limit of its travel it is emptied on to the transporter, which carries the excavated material to a dumping point whilst the bucket is performing the next digging operation.
