The invention of the parent Specification, in which printing colours are prepared by grinding a siccative glycerophthalic resin with a pigment and emulsifying the enamel thus obtained in water, is modified (a) by using a glycerophthalic resin which dries slowly in air and is rich in oil, (b) by replacing the glycerophthalic resin by another siccative polyalcoholpolyacid resin or by mixed resins containing radicals of polyalcohols, polyacids, phenol and formaldehyde and having similar properties, or (c) by carrying out the process of (a) or (b) and using a solvent during the grinding. In Examples, (1) soyabean oil modified glycerophthalic resin having a composition corresponding to 60 per cent. of oil is ground with Monastral Blue BS and white spirit, emulsified in a solution of methylcellulose and triethanolamine in water, thinned with xylene and water, and printed on to a fabric which is then dried and stoved; (2) soyabean oil modified glycerophthalic resin (57 per cent. of oil) is ground with white spirit and Monastral Green GS, emulsified in an aqueous suspension of bentonite, diluted with xylene and water, and printed on to fabric which is then dried; (3) soyabean oil modified glycerophthalic resin (60 per cent. oil) is ground with white spirit and hytetia Scarlet NRF, emulsified in an aqueous suspension of bentonite, diluted with xylene and water, and printed on to fabric which is then dried in air or stored; (4) a resin prepared from soyabean oil, phthalic anhydride, maleic anhydride, pentaerythritol and glycol (57 per cent.) is ground with white spirit and iron oxide, added to an aqueous suspension of bentonite and used for printing fabrics; (5) a glycerophthalic resin prepared from soyabean and dehydrated castor oils (75 per cent.) is ground with Monastral Blue BS, dispersed in an aqueous solution containing methylcellulose and triethanolamine, and used for printing fabrics.ALSO:The invention of the parent Specification, in which printing colours are prepared by grinding a siccative glycerophthalic resin with a pigment and emulsifying the enamel thus obtained in water, is modified (a) by using a glycerophthalic resin which dries slowly in air and is rich in oil, (b) by replacing the glycerophthalic resin by another siccative polyalcohol-polyacid resin or by mixed resins containing radicals of polyalcohols, polyacids, phenol and formaldehyde and having similar properties, or (c) by carrying out the process of (a) or (b) and using a solvent during the grinding.
