[Classes 106 (i) and 106 (iii)] An indicating-device for use in connection with the odometer of a motor car or other vehicle comprises a meter 16 driven by an electric motor 1 which can be set to run at any speed, and a device 5 or 10 for indicating the speed of the electric motor in terms of a corresponding notional speed of the vehicle, the meter 16 indicating the distance which the vehicle would have travelled if proceeding at the selected notional speed. A variable resistance 4 in the circuit of the electric motor 1 driving a known form of counter 16 may be graduated in vehicle speeds, or a separate ammeter 10 or a voltmeter may be so graduated. The meter or counter 16 may be incorporated in the same housing as the vehicle odometer or may be a separate instrument.
