[Class 141] A supporting device for the wings of soft collars of the kind consisting of a crossbar and two telescopic legs provided with points to engage the tips of the wings, has the ends of the cross-bar connected to the upper ends of tubular members of oval section, the legs being slidable into the tubular members against the pressure of springs therein and having flattened portions within the members to prevent rotation of the legs. As shown, each end 15 of the cross-bar 10 is bent and engaged in a hole 17 in the tubular member 14. The upper end of the member 14 is capped by a ball 18. The leg 20 is flattened at 22 within the tubular member to co-operate with the oval section of the latter. In modifications, the ends of the cross-bar are a wedge fit in the upper ends of the tubular members.
