[A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Feb. 14, 1948.] [Class 87 (ii)] Tyres are vulcanized in an apparatus comprising an annular heating chamber 1 with tread forming elements 8 on the interior surface divided circumferentially into segments spaced apart to allow air to escape. The segments may have inwardly directed sides to prevent escape of the tread rubber being moulded or these sides 9 may be sloped outwardly and cooperate with coned rings 13. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 also describes a clamping device in which a number of these apparatus may be clamped together and comprising two discs 15, 20, Fig. 7 (Cancelled), adapted to be drawn together by a screwed rod 17. The tread forming elements 26 are clamped in position by screws 29 in strips 27 clamped to the rings 15, 20. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
