A tank, provided with one or more bulkheads or partitions secured in a fluid-tight manner to subdivide the interior of the tank into a number of compartments, is provided with a wall member or members which are secured to the tank wall to form with each bulkhead a chamber adapted to receive any liquid which may pass the bulkhead joint, the chamber having a drain hole to conduct away any leakage liquid. The drawing shows a bulkhead b having its flange c welded to the tank a at d and a dished fillet ring c is welded to the tank a and bulkhead b at g, h, forming a chamber i of triangular section into which any liquid which passes the weld d will collect. A drainhole k is provided.
