摘要
679,110. Chucks; turning; boring. TANNER, N. E., and SADLER, T. June 19, 1951, No. 14511/51. Class 83 (iii). A clamping device for holding the soft jaws 8 of a chuck firmly in the chuck body 9 while their external gripping surfaces are trued by turning or their internal gripping surfaces are trued by boring comprises an annular body 1 with circular slots 2 eccentric to the body axis and collar pins 3 slidable in the slots. After the jaws have been set to the desired position for trueing, the pins are moved along the slots so that they can be inserted in one or other of the holes 7 in the jaws and the locking nuts 4 are then tightened. The chuck is next tightened, outwards for turning and inwards for boring, so that the jaws, while being trued, are under the same stresses as they would be in use.
