Class 86 In a concrete mixing machine having a mixing container 3 mounted for rotation within a tiltable cradle 4 means are provided for adjusting the height of the container in the cradle to compensate for wear between the toothed rack on the container and the driving pinion. An axle 8 is journalled for rotation in the cradle 4 and the container 3 is secured to the axle by releasable means consisting of a screw threaded cone ring 10 and a split conical locking sleeve 9. When it is desired to adjust the height of the container the axle 8 is locked to the cradle by the insertion of a key into a. groove 19 in the axle and the locking sleeve 9 is released by unscrewing the nut 12. By operating the driving pinion the container and the cone ring 10 may then be caused to turn relatively to the axle 8 and by reason of the screw threaded-engagement. between the axle 8 and cone ring 10, the desired adjustment is effected.
