A device for clamping an original record sheet, one or more copy sheets and interleaved carbon sheet or sheets to a writing board 9 comprises separate clamping means 21, 20 and 11 for the respective kinds of sheets, a separate manually controlled member 29, 28, 17 for operating each clamping member, the arrangement being such that on operation of one of the manually controlled members, 17, all the clamping means 21, 20, 11 are simultaneously actuated, on operation of another of the members, 28, at least one other clamping means, 21, excluding the clamping means, 11. operated by the control member 17, will be operated and on the operation of a third control member 29, only the clamping means 21 connected with the third member will be operated. In the described embodiment, the member 17 is operated by depression of a finger-piece 17a having a projection 17b overlying and thereby operating the members 28, 29 and the members 28 has finger-piece 28a with a projection 28b overlying the member 29 which has a fingerpiece 29a with no projections. The members 17, 28, 29 comprise levers in line and pivoted on a pin 18 mounted in a block 19 formed on a body 18 enclosing the clamping device at one side of the board 9, the finger-piece ends of the levers projecting out through slots 30 in a cover 31. The levers 17, 28, 29 at the opposite end are secured by links 16, 26, 27 to bars 12, 24, 25, the bar 12 being provided with a rubber gripping surface 13 to constitute the clamp 11 for the carbon sheets, and the bars 24, 25 holding rows of clamping pins 20, 21. The bar 12 is slidably mounted on pins secured to the body 8, is pressed down by springs surrounding the pins and the pins 20, 21 are slidable in slots in the body 8 and pressed down as by spring 23. Further clamp bars or pins and interconnected actuating key levers may be provided for further copies.
