摘要
Textile materials are printed with an "onium" dyestuff as hereinafter defined, an organic acid and a hydrophilic organic substance, and are then steamed and optionally after-treated with an agent which precipitates the dyestuff. "Onium" dyestuffs contain one or more isothiouronium salt groups each of which is directly attached to a methylene linkage itself directly attached to a carbon atom of an aromatic nucleus which nucleus remains as part of the dyestuff molecule when the dyestuff is fixed. Suitable dyestuffs are described in Specifications 576,270, 587,636 and 613,980. Organic acids specified are monochloracetic, tartaric, citric, glycollic, diglycollic and lactic acids, and as hydrophilic organic substances the following are mentioned, b ,b 1-dihydroxydiethyl sulphide, resorcinol, ethylene glycol, urea, glycerol, glycerol triacetate, sulpholane and dimethylsulpholane. The dyestuffs may be precipitated after steaming the fabric by treatment with alkalies, thiocyanates, aromatic sulphonic acids, sulphated and sulphonated long-chain compounds, perborates, cyanides and chromates, e.g. naphthalene-1,5-(or 1,6)-disulphonic acids, naphthalene-1,3,6-trisulphonic acid, sodium m-nitrobenzene sulphonate, sodium and ammonium thiocyanates, sodium chromate or bichromate, ammonia, sodium carbonate, sodium cyanide, caustic soda or sulphonated sperm oil. The fastness of the prints may be improved by adding the triethanolamine salt of an organic acid. Cellulose acetate and nylon fabrics may be printed, particularly when using resorcinol as the hydrophilic substance. Examples are given using the following dyestuffs, acids and hydrophilic substances, respectively: (1) the dyestuff from copper tri - (chloromethyl) - phthalocyanine and tetramethylthiourea, with lactic acid and thiodiglycol, followed by fixing with acid potassium dichromate; (2) the dyestuff from bis - (chloromethyl) - isodibenzanthrone and tetramethylthiourea, with lactic acid and thiodiglycol; (3) the dyestuff fromthe bischloromethyl derivative of perylene-3,4,9,10-tetracarboxy - di - (phenylimide) and tetramethylthiourea, with lactic acid, resorcinol and thiodiglycol, followed by fixing with the sodium salt of naphthalene-1,6-disulphonic acid; (4) the dyestuff from dichloromethyl-4,41 - di - (6 - methylbenzthiazyl - 2) - azobenzene and tetramethylthiourea, with lactic acid and thiodiglycol, followed by fixing with ammonium thiocyanate; (5) the dyestuff from bis - (chloromethyl) - dibenzanthrone and tetramethylthiourea, with lactic acid and thiodiglycol, followed by fixing with trisodium naphthalene - 1,3,6 - trisulphonate; (6) the dyestuff of (2), with monochloracetic acid and lactic acid, and thiodiglycol, followed by fixing with an emulsion of sulphonated sperm oil and pine oil; and (7) the dyestuff of (1) with lactic acid and thiodiglycol. Specification 633,160 also is referred to.
