Pharmaceutical preparation for preventing vomiting

A therapeutic composition to prevent vomitting for administration in the absence of additional aqueous fluids consists essentially of an aqueous syrup containing at least 18 per cent by weight of soluble carbohydrates together with ortho-phosphoric acid, the pH being between 1.40 and 1.70. Suitable carbohydrates include sucrose, glucose, laevulose, frictose, maltose, dextrose and lactose. Flavourings, colouring matters and glycerol may also be added.
