Improvements in and relating to three-legged laminated magnetic cores

In a three-legged magnetic core of the type having leg and yoke members each comprised of two parallel spaced laminations the insert members between the yoke members and the centre leg member are each comprised of two lamination pieces 10, 11 or 12, 13 each pair of pieces being of equal lengths but of unequal widths abutting at their lengthwise edges. In alternate layers the inert members in corresponding positions are similar but are reversed whilst those in adjacent layers are of different overall dimensions. Thus in the joint areas the abutting edges do not coincide. The laminations of all the members are constructed from grain oriented strip, the grain directions in the insert members in adjacent layers being at right angles to one another.
