Class 120(2) A balloon control ring having an entrance slot for yarn is provided with individual supporting means which enable the plane of the ring to be turned through 180 degrees without removing the ring from its support thus enabling the ring to be used for both Sand Z twisting. In the embodiment shown the ring 1 is formed with a slot 3 and is riveted to a pin 6 which engages in holes in a clamp 7 such that it can turn through 180 degrees and be held in its two end positions by the resilience of the clamp. The clamp is mounted on a bar 8 by a grub screw 9 engaging in a slot 16 in the clamp so that the ring can be swung around the bar.
