摘要
The chlorides of boron, mercury, gallium, germanium, arsenic, antimony and bismuth are reacted with aluminium trialkyls, their etherates or aluminium alkyl chlorides in the presence of or with the subsequent addition of alkali metal chlorides to give the alkyls or alkyl chlorides of said elements. Typical reactions are: AlR3 + BCl3 + NaCl -- BR3 + NaAlCl4 3HgCl2 + AlR3 + 2NaCl -- 3HgR2 + 2NaAlCl4 3BCl3 + AlR3 + NaCl -- 3BRCl2 + NaAlCl4 The reaction may take place in the presence of solvents, diluents or dispersants such as methylene chloride, chlorobenzene or methyl naphthalene or even the elemental alkyl it is intended to prepare may act as solvent. Instead of boron trichloride, boron alkyl chloride, boron dialkyl chloride or higher chlorides such as B2Cl4 may be reacted. The examples describe the preparation of: (1) boron triethyl, (2) boron triethyl and gallium triethyl; (4) boron tributyl; (5) mercury diethyl; (7) arsenic triethyl and antimony triethyl; (8) bismuth triethyl; (9) germanium tetra-ethyl and diethyl germanium dichloride; and (10) boron trioctyl.
