Class 20(2) A telescopic pit prop 11 can be moved laterally by a lever 19 which pivots about a fulcrum 28 supported by shoes 29 on rails 26. The lever 19 comprises two cranked arms pivoted at 18 to either side of the prop base or (Fig. 5, not shown) detachably inserted in eyeholes in the prop base. A haulage device attached to an eyebolt 25 connecting the arms causes the lever 19 to pivot about its fulcrum 28 lifting the edge of the prop foot and pulling the prop along the rails 26. The fulcrum may alternatively be a roller resting directly on the ground (Fig. 6, not shown, refers).
