[Also in Group XX] In a system wherein sprayers are supplied with water through a pipe 15, Fig. 1, and the water supply valve is turned on and off by a circuit controlled by the conductivity across a pair of spaced electrodes 12, Fig. 3, in a chamber 6, a water well 4, which may have a ceramic block 26 therein, loses moisture by evaporation and this is replaced through passage 5 from chamber 6. When the water level falls so far that conductivity between electrodes 12 ceases, the main water supply valve is opened. A small outlet 16 from pipe 15 communicates through felt or other porous rings 19 and sponge rubber or other resilient porous discs 21 with an overflow 18 into a reservoir 8. The rate at which water passes to the overflow 18 can be controlled by adjusting knob 25. When reservoir 8 is sufficiently full, water siphons through pipe 9 to chamber 6, the electrodes 12 conduct, and the main water supply valve is closed.
