Means for winding the card comprises a revolving face plate 4 carrying a diametrically disposed rib 7 having fingers '8 and co-operating springs 9 which hold a card 1. The tape 2 is guided by an oscillating member 15. At the commencement of winding, the free end of the tape is held between a plunger 18 and a rubber pad 19, the plunger being locked by a ball 27 and a second plunger 24. When the card is fully wound, the tape trips a lever 20 to raise the plunger 18 and release the tape. The rotation of the plate 4 is stopped and a bar 30 depressed by the operator to cause a tucking-in blade 35 and a cutter 32 to carry a loop at the tape end through the card. A pin 39 extending from the cutter 32 engages and depresses simultaneously the plunger 18 to hold the tape during the tucking-in operation.
