Potatoes are peeled by cutters 6 inserted in slots of a rotating bottom 2 and also by further cutters 7 in rotating side plates 3 on spindles 5 nearly perpendicular to the openings in the vessel 1. There may be two or more plates 3 of the same or differing sizes and they may have concave inner surfaces. The rotating bottom 2 may drive plates 3 either directly or through transmission members.
