摘要
An organosiloxy-aluminium oxide polymer is made by reacting a triorganosiloxy hydrocarbonoxy aluminium with water, a carboxylic acid anhydride or a triorganosiloxy acyloxy aluminium. Reactants (other than water) specified are R3SiOAl(OR1)2, (R11CO)2O and R1113SiOAl(OOCR11)2, wherein R, R1, R11 and R111 are each an alkyl, aryl, aralkyl or alkaryl radical. If desired the chain-stopper (R3SiO)2AlOR1 and cross-linking reactant Al(OR1)3 can be added. The siloxy-aluminium reactants can be made by reacting a triorganoacyloxy silane with an alkoxy-aluminium. In typical examples (2) triisopropoxy aluminium and triphenylacetoxy silane were heated at 80 DEG C. in dry cumene to yield, after removal of solvent and isopropyl acetate formed during the reaction, triphenylsiloxy diisopropoxy aluminium; (3) trimethylsiloxy diisopropoxy aluminium in toluene and isopropanol were reacted with water to yield a polymer. Uses: The polymers alone or in admixture with other resins, pigments, fillers, &c., can be used as varnishes, lacquers and paints; as moulding and laminating resins; as finishing agents for glass fibres; as hydraulic, heatexchange and lubricating liquids; as modifiers for silicone, alkyd, epoxy and phenolic resins; and for making block and graft polymers.
