Electrodes 5 are supported on a rod like member 2 between two floats 1, 3, the latter of which carries a vee shaped deflector 4 for projecting down into a flowing suspension of fibres in a liquid, whereby a region having a relatively low concentration of fibres is formed around the electrodes when the arrangement is floating in a fixed position on the surface of such a flowing suspension.
