A device for cold forming grooves or threads in cylindrical bodies comprises interchangeable and adjustable rolls 5 mounted eccentrically on pins, the pins having mounted on them toothed segments 9 which mesh with an internally toothed ring 13, the teeth of each segment being straight in their central portions c while on both sides a and b they are bevelled towards the faces of the segment. Thus bushes 8 which support the pins at each end and whose axes are inclined relative to the axis of the device, may replace conventional bushes so that the rolls can be skewed, without the need of replacing the toothed segments. Rotation of the ring 13 rotates the segments, and hence the pins, so that the angle of skew of the rolls can be adjusted, the bushes 8 accommodating themselves to the adjustment by rotating slightly.
