method for the stabilization of aqueous solutions, vitamin a, d, e, k1 and / or carotenoiden and / or lipophilic derivatives of water-soluble vitamins contain.
Lipophilic compositions comprise a fat-soluble vitamin, a lipophilic derivative of a water-soluble vitamin, a carotenoid or any mixture of these, in admixture with a non-ionic emulsifier and an ionic wetting agent. The compositions may be mixed with water, or aqueous solutions of polyalcohols and/or hydrocolloids to give clear stable solutions. Vitamins may be A, D, E, K1, or lipophilic derivatives of water-soluble vitamins such as pantothenol cetyl ether, or pyridoxin tri-palmitate, or carotenoids. Preferred non-ionic emulsifiers are those containing polyoxyethylene groups; ionic wetting agents may be anionic, cationic, or amphateric, many being listed. Water-soluble vitamins, e.g. Vitamins C, B1, B2, B6, and nicotinamide, sugars, e.g. sucrose, sorbitol, glucose, invert sugar, and also starch syrup or glycerine are mentioned as the aforesaid polyalcohols, and hydrocolloids may be methyl cellulose, tragacanth, polyvinylpyrrolidone, polyvinyl alcohol, pectin, and/or guar gum. Examples are given for preparations containing many fat-soluble vitamin mixtures, which are then admixed with aqueous solutions which may contain water-soluble vitamins.
