915,608. Automatic exchange systems. SIEMENS & HALSKE A.G. March 30, 1961 [April 4, 1960], No. 11827/61. Drawings to Specification. Class 40 (4). In a system in which the transmission of data is permitted at times of light traffic, e.g. at night, certain substations being suitably equipped, apparatus at the exchange is available in response to the dialling of code digits for " booking " in advance data transmission calls. This apparatus may subsequently control the setting up of the appropriate connection, or it may record the data from the sending station and later repeat it to the appropriate receiving station. The restriction on data transmission may, if desired, be imposed only on interexchange calls.
