Anthelmintic preparations comprise 1, 4-phenylene-diisothiocyanate together with a pharmaceutically suitable carrier. The preparations may take the form of suspensions, powders, tablets or pastes, and the active ingredient may also be incorporated into animal foodstuffs. Other anthelmintics may additionally be incorporated in the preparations, e.g. 1, 4-bis-trichloromethyl-benzene, hexachlorethane, cyanoacetic acid hydrazide and 1-methyl-4-diethylcarbamyl-piperazine.
