摘要
A method for producing 51-inosinic acid, 31-adenyli acid or 51-adenylic acid comprises aerobically culturing a micro-organism which requires at least one growth factor selected from quanine, xanthine, hypoxanthine and thymine in a medium containing a source of assimilable carbon, a source of assimilable nitrogen, inorganic salts and from 2 to 90 m g/ml. of each required growth factor. The growth factors may be added as yeast extract. The products may be isolated by ion-exchange (details given), adsorption, precipitation or extraction processes and may be isolated as salts, e.g. of barium or sodium. Other growth factors may be required, e.g. isoleucine, glycine, aspartic acid, glutamine, fumaric acid, formic acid, p-aminobenzoic acid, biotin and folic acid. Suitable strains of micro-organism may be obtained by standard methods of inducing mutation, e.g. from Micrococcus glutamicus, Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli, Brevibacterium ammoniagenes, Candida utilis, Penicillium chrysogenum, Aspergillus niger, Streptomyces grieus and Neurospora crassa. Glutamic acid may be formed as by-product when using a Micrococcus glutamicus strain.
