[Also in Divisions F1 and F4] A device for damping pressure surges in a conduit 20 supplying gas to a combustion chamber in which pulsating combustion takes place, comprises a chamber 21 having an overpressure valve 22 and an underpressure valve 23. The underpressure valve opens when the pressure in the chamber is below atmospheric and the overpressure valve opens when the pressure is above atmospheric. The overpressure valve 22 comprises a disc seating on the edge of a nozzle 26 extending into the chamber 21 and the underpressure valve 23 comprises a disc seating on the inside of the overpressure disc 22; the latter has passages 27 within the area bounded by the underpressure disc 23. The valves have separate springs 31, 32 and a common guide pin 28.
