The invention comprises 2-amino-6-methyl-heptan-6-ol aspartate and its preparation by reacting the parent acid (or a salt thereof) and base (or a salt thereof). The compound has a cardiorespiratory action in cardiac and respiratory insufficiencies (see Division A5).ALSO:Pharmaceutical compositions comprise 2-amino - 6 - methylheptan - 6 - ol aspartate in association with a carrier. The compositions may be administered orally, parenterally or rectally, e.g. as powders, granules, tablets, pills, potions, drops, syrups, elixirs, solutions and suppositories, and may also contain vitamins and/or a local anaesthetic. 2-Amino-6-methylheptan-6-ol aspartate has a cardio-respiratory action in cardiac and respiratory insufficiencies.
