A pressure instrument comprises an elongated tube 10 with a pitot port 12 at its front end, a forward space 15 in the tube sealed off by a plug 16 above the floor of which opens at 17B a port of a pitot pressure line 17 and a water-delivery channel (24A-26 of Figs 2 and 3) which extends from a mouth adjacent the floor of the space near the plug to a water delivery port 27 opening out of the exterior surface of the tube 10. Alternatively water accumulating in the space 15 may be removed by a tube 43 passing round the side of the tube 17 and opening at 42 in the top of the tube 10. In either instance the water is driven to the outlet port by the pressure in the space 15. Two static-pressure ports open downwards at from 36 to 40 degrees on either side of the vertical from the space behind the plug 16.
