Cyclic process using molecular sieves in order to separate the hydrocarbons to a straight chain of branched or cyclic hydrocarbon chain

In a cyclic process employing molecular sieves to separate straight-chain hydrocarbons from branched-chain and/or cyclic hydrocarbons in which the circulation of desorbing and/or purging medium is effected and olefins tend to build up in the circulation system to an equilibrium level, the process is conducted in such manner as to limit the olefin concentration in the circulation system to a level below the equilibrium level. Olefins may be removed from the circulating fluids by hydrogenation, distillation or absorption in sulphuric acid; in the specific embodiment described, distillation is used.
