PICT:1057834/C1/1 PICT:1057834/C1/2 A glazing device comprises a conveyer 2, for transporting workpieces to a feed regulator 5, a rotary charging device 3 for feeding the workpieces into rotatable perforated plate-like workpiece holders 4 mounted on a rotatable circular platform 1, a glazing zone 6 located radially of the circular platform for applying glaze to workpieces passing therethrough, a means 12 for rapidly decelerating the rotating workpiece holders 4 as they leave the glazing zone 6 and a rotary take-off device 13 for transferring the glazed workpieces from the holders 4 on to the conveyer 2 beyond the charging device 3. The holders 4 are adapted to be rotated in the glazing zone 6 by an infinitely variable speed drive. Adjustable discharge nozzles 7 are arranged in the zone to glaze the workpieces, the nozzles being fed from a reservoir 8 into which excess glaze flows back through a filter 11. The articles to be glazed may be porcelain, earthenware or china.
