N,N1,N11 - triorgano-substituted borazoles of the general formula FORM:1003090/C2/1 wherein R represents an alkyl, cycloalkyl, aromatic or substituted aromatic radical, one made by reacting an alkali metal borohydride or an alkali metal aluminium hydride with a carboxylic acid nitrile RCN and a boron trihalide or an addition compound of a boron trihalide with an ether, or by reacting an alkali metal borohydride or an alkali metal aluminium hydride with an addition compound of a boron halide with a carboxylic acid nitrile. The reaction may be effected at a temperature from 0 DEG to 100 DEG C. Suitable starting materials are listed and the preparation of N,N1,N11-triethyl-, tripropyl-and tri - (o - chlorobenzyl) - b ,b 1,b 11 - trihydrogenoborazoles is exemplified.
