An expansible bellows is formed by stiffening material sandwiched between two covering sheets and is characterized in that the stiffening material associated with two adjacent sides has projections 25 and 31 which respectively project into the ridges 45 and 41 of the adjacent side. In the manufacture of the bellows, a single sheet of stiffening material having transverse slots 23 corresponding to the folds of the bellows and longitudinal zigzag cutouts correponding to the corners of the bellows, is used.
