New copper complexes of disazo dyestuffs containing a triazine nucleus

The invention comprises copper complexes of dyestuffs of the formula FORM:1101750/C4-C5/1 wherein A represents a 4-methyl-2-sulphophenyl radical, B represents a benzene or naphthalene radical which may be substituted, Z represents a metallisable group, P represents a group of the formula: FORM:1101750/C4-C5/2 which is attached to the 6- or 7-position of the naphthalene nucleus, R represents a substituted or unsubstituted phenylene radical, R1 represents H or an alkyl radical, X represents Cl or Br, Y represents an alkoxy, NH2 or substituted amino group, m and p each represent 1 or 2 and may be the same or different provided that m is not 2 when p is 1, and n represents a whole number. They may be obtained by condensing cyanuric chloride or bromide with 1 mole of NH3, an alcohol or an amine, and with 1 mole of a copper complex of an azo compound of formula (1) wherein P represents a group of the formula FORM:1101750/C4-C5/3 attached to the naphthalene ring in the 6- or 7-position relative to the -OH group. Examples are given for the production of the dyes. The dyes are suitable for colouring cellulose textile materials. The copper complex azo compounds of formula (1) wherein P represents a group of formula (3) may be obtained by coupling diazotized 4-methyl-2-sulphoaniline with an amine of the formula FORM:1101750/C4-C5/4 diazotizing the resulting aminoazo compound and coupling with an aminonaphthol of the formula FORM:1101750/C4-C5/5 wherein the FORM:1101750/C4-C5/6 group is attached to the 6- or 7-position of the naphthalene ring relative to the -OH, and subjecting the resulting amino-disazo compound to a metallization process with a copper salt.
