The subject matter of the Specification is similar to that of the parent Specification except that the claims are directed to a hand-held electric stud welding tool comprising a reciprocably mounted electrode assembly 22 having a button holding means 64 provided with a rearwardly extending passage into which leads a transverse inlet 94, and the support of the tool being provided with an aperture through which a stud can be introduced to pass through the inlet 94 into the passage whereby a fluid pressure operated electrode plunger 66 can push a stud forwardly through the passage into the button holding means 64.
