A prefabricated building unit adapted for easy transportation comprises an intermediate floor member having upright frame members hinged thereto at the corners which when pivoted into the vertical position engage a socketed wall member 35. The member 35 has inclined plates 42, 43 to position the lower and upper frame members 11 with a wedging action, see also Fig. 6 (not shown). The floor member has a suspended ceiling 26 of plywood backed with a fire-proofing layer 26. A number of such units may be bolted to-gether. For minor details of floor joists, mode of erection &c., the Specification should be referred to together with Specifications 795975, 901483 and 901484.
