Use of stainless steel sheet for building boards for cladding

Stainless steel (sheet, strip, building panel) is coated (rolling, dipping, spraying) with an aqueous solution of an alkali metal (Na, K, Li) silicate and heated. The coating does not exceed 0.001 inch and is substantially invisible and mar resistant. The steel may be passed between rolls which have been sand- or shot-blasted before being coated.
