An aircraft flight simulator has a television camera G arranged to move in relation to a model landing runway C in response to the handling by a trainee pilot of the simulated aircraft A, the relative motion being controlled by signals representing the changing Cartesian co-ordinates N, E of the aircraft's plan position, and these signals are applied through a resolver L adjustable to turn its resolution axes through a predetermined angle #, this angle also being added to the heading angle of the aircraft to give the heading angle H of the camera relative to the model. Thus a single model runway can be used for a training programme in which a landing approach is broken off and a further approach is made to an alternative runway on a different heading. The runway is moved in the Y-direction by a motor M(Y), the camera is moved in the X-direction by a motor M(X), and is rotated to simulate heading variations by a motor M(H).
