An electro-photographic apparatus which can selectively produce multiple copies from microfilm 15 or opaque documents placed on platen 59, Fig. 4, has a mirror 70 which can pivot about separate axes for projecting micro-film on to a viewing screen 18, Fig.3, or on to a xerographic drum 22. The apparatus reproduces enlarged copies of the micro-film 15 supported on supply and take-up rolls 16, 17, Fig. 1 (not shown). Alternatively, micro-film or aperture cards may be reproduced. Copies are reproduced on paper by transfer in known manner by the xerographic drum 22. Micro-film reproduction is effected by the optical system shown in Fig.4 which includes light source 41, lens 45 and 49 and a scanning lens 65. The lens 49 projects an image on to the mirror 70 which reflects this image to a mirror 55 and mirrors 61, 63 through a Fresnel lens 57 above the platen 59. The mirror 70 has an outer pivotally mounted support (67) Fig.6 (not shown), and an innersupport (69) pivotally supported with support (67). A view/ print lever (19) actuates the mirror between its printing and viewing positions, Figs.4 and 3 respectively. The viewing screen 18, Fig. 3, forms part of a reader assembly (13), Fig. 1 (not shown) moveable relative to the platen 54, Fig.4, by bearings (112), Fig.7 (not shown), engaging guides (114) to permit copying of opaque documents placed on the platen. A handle (11) is connected to a clutch wheel 120 which acuates a cam (124). The assembly 13 is locked in its terminal positions by the cam (124) engaging slots 130, 132. An assembly (134) is provided for lowering lens 57, Fig.4, into overlying relation with platen 59 for micro-film reproduction.
