1304422 Disinfectant compositions SCHULKE & MAYR GmbH 19 March 1970 13212/ 70 Heading A5E A storable combination of two separate dry components, which may be used to form an aqueous disinfectant particularly suitable for the destruction of coccidae eggs and nematodes, comprises as its first component a dry mixture which contains a compound which evolves carbon disulphide in aqueous acid, a non-ionic and/or an anionic emulsifier and an alkaline-reacting stabiliser for the compound which evolves carbon disulphide in aqueous acid and as its second component a solid compound which gives an acid reaction in water. Preferred compounds which evolve carbon disulphide on treatment with acid are thiocarbamates of formula: in which R 1 and R 2 , which may be the same or different, are an alkyl or aralkyl residue, or R 1 and R 2 together are an alkylene, oxyalkylene or thioalkylene residue to form a monoheterocyclic ring with the nitrogen to which they are attached, and Me is a cation, preferably an alkali metal, alkaline earth metal or nitrogen base cation. The first component of the storage-stable combination may include an inorganic dehydrating salt such as an alkali metal sulphate, silicate or carbonate. The thiocompounds used are stabilised by alkaline-reacting substances to prevent hydrolysis in moist carbon-dioxide-containing air. Suitable stabilisers include carbonates, borates, phosphates, acetates and phenates. Phenates such as sodium trichlorophenate, sodium o-phenyl phenate or sodium pentachlorophenate are particularly suitable, since they are also bactericides A process for killing coccidia eggs and nematodes comprises admixing a dry mixture containing a compound which evolves carbon disulphide in aqueous acid and a non-ionic and/or anionic emulsifier and aqueous acid sufficiently concentrated to provide a carbondisulphide-containing aqueous solution on reaction with the dry mixture, and applying to the coccidia eggs and nematodes the aqueous solution thus produced.
