Clamping jig for assembling glass reinforced resin components by coating the mating surfaces with glass filled binder resin, pref. bridging opposing cavities in the mating faces with key inserts of similar material, and clamping the elements until cured. The clamping faces which may be heated as appropriate, are perforated to admit resin and extract air from the weld zone. Allows construction (on site) of bulky items such as window frames from component parts instead of monolithic construction which would need a large mould.
