摘要
Polyamides, polyolefins, polystyrenes polyvinylchlorides, polyvinylidene chloride, copolymers thereof and polymer blends thereof are rendered antistatic by the homogeneous incorporation of an imidazole having the formula in which R1, R2, R3 and R4 are hydrogen, alkyl, aryl, aralkyl, cycloalkyl, carbonyl and metal salts thereof, esterified carboxy, alkylcarbonyl, hydroxyalkyl, amino, acetamido, aminoalkyl, aminoaryl or its acetylate, or sulphonic acid, R2 may also be mercapto, halogen or halogenated alkyl and R3 and R4 may be nitro, aldehyde halogen or halogenated alkyl, but R3 may not be aryl, aralkyl or aminoaryl. The imidazole is added in amounts of 0À005-20% and may be added to the powdered polymer followed by melt moulding or spinning or may be added to the starting materials, particularly polyamide pre-condensates, followed by polycondensation in its presence. Numerous polyamide-forming monomers are listed. In the examples imidazoles are added to (1) #-caprolactam followed by condensation and spinning the product (2) ecaprolactam and a condensate of hexamethylene diamine with terephthalic acid, followed by condensation and spinning the product (3) polyhexamethylene adipamide followed by melt spinning (4) polyethylene followed by extrusion as a sheet (5) polypropylene followed by extrusion (6) polystyrene followed by extrusion (7) isotactic polypropylene followed by melting and extrusion (8) PVC together with dioctyl phthalate and barium and cadmium stearates followed by kneading and shaping.
