The explosive comprises water, an inorganic oxidised salt (at least partially soluble in H2O) and a non-explosive fuel which consists of at least 3%, based on total explosive, of a dissolved carbonaceous fuel, pref. a carbohydrate; from 5-60% of small gas-filled cavities, a modifying agent for the crystal form of the salt, pref. an anionic surfactant, and the fuel being distributed in the mass.
