Ph2CCl2 (23.7 g.) and (CH2OH)2 (6.2 g.) were heated in o-dichlorobenzene (325 g.) for 20 hr., evapd., and distilled, giving (I) (17 g.), b.p. 130 deg./3 torr., m.p. 41-3 deg.
