Needle tripping device is provided with a magazine from which are removed bifurcated riders by a respective number of feeding members such that the riders can be mounted on the wrap threads, each of the feeding members being arranged for co-operation and association with a row of the riders and provided with means for co-operation with the operative parts of the riders. Each of the feeding members is provided with setting means which aligns the feeding members such that the feeding members can engage in a trouble-free manner the operative means of the riders which are selected from the associated row. Co-operative means is formed by a pin which is mounted slidably on a shaft, whereby the setting means is actuated such that it displaces the pin into a position in which it can co-operate with the operative part of the riders.
