The silo has a discharge mechanism under the floor, comprising an auger working in a trough extending radially from the centre. The material is delivered to the auger by the arms of a rotor above the floor. - The auger (2) increases in dia. in the transport direction under the silo (3) and its pitch also coarsens in this direction. - The degree of coarsening can be progressive and its outline can be conical, with a roughly horizontal axis (17). The trough can be of constant and pref. part-cylindrical cross-section for its entire length.
