1,178,335. Film storage and supply devices. FOTOCOLOR AUTOMATION Ltd. June 25, 1968 [Sept. 18, 1967], No.42388/67. Heading G2A. The invention comprises a magazine for storing exposed film strips preparatory to feeding them to a processing machine. The magazine is built up on a rectangular framework of bars 4, 5, 6. Along each side is a fixed horizontal plate 9 and a parallel movable plate 13. At one end of plate 13 is a slot 14, in which a pin 15 on plate 9 engages. Thus plate 13 can have both a rotational and sliding movement about pin 15. This movement is imparted to it by a crank arm 16, rotating about a pivot 17 on plate 9, its other end pivotally attached to a pin 18 on plate 13. Thus as crank arm 16 rotates, the adjacent end of plate 13 executes an up and down, as well as a longitudinal, movement. Three stages in this movement are illustrated in Figs. 4-6 (not shown). The rods 10, to which the film strips are attached, are first placed on hook members 12 until the film loading is completed. They are then laid in notches 11 in plates 9, and the movement of plate 13 relative to plate 9 causes them to be pushed slidingly along in intermittent steps until they reach an inclined ramp 28, where they remain until they can be loaded into a processing machine. The rods may have spacing collars 19 at their ends.
